The Bertnest Mountain home is located between Blowing Rock and Boone in North Carolina, right up the hill from the Appalachian Ski Mountain Resort. It is called Bertsnest because it is owned by the Bertelson Family (8 of us altogether, Grandma, PopPop, their son, his wife and their 4 children) plus it's our nest of serenity away from our normally busy hectic lives in Palm Beach County Florida. Bertnest was initially built in 1985, but has had 2 major additions/upgrades as well as many minor upgrades over the years. It has all the amenities you could imagine you need and many more you never thought you needed... for instance it has an elevator from the garage up to the main house. It can sleep 6 people (in beds) in the main part of the house (with 2 more full size sofa's as well.) The Downstairs finished basement apartment sleeps 4 (in beds) with another pull out sofa as well.  So it sleeps 10 (in beds) up to 13 and that's not counting floor space ! There is a 1 car garage to pull your car into, so no leaving the car outside to have it piled up with snow the next morning. Also making starting your car in the cold weather easier. There is a large wooden deck with a wonderful view and a walkway to a gazebo too. Maybe the photos will explain it better.
